Broncos 13th After First Round At Peg Barnard California Collegiate

PALO ALTO, Calif. - The Santa Clara women's golf team had a rough day at the Peg Barnard California Collegiate, hosted by Stanford University at the Stanford Golf Course. Samantha Trask led the Broncos with an opening round of 77, who sit in 13th place with a first round combined score of 328.

"Today was a very tough day for us," said head coach Polly Schulze. "The course is in phenomenal shape and the weather was perfect, but we just couldn't get anything going our way today."

Behind Trask, who finished the day tied for 33rd, freshman Jamie Nonaka finished tied for 59th with a round of 82, Hilaire Fouts was 63rd with a round of 84, and Corey Utsurogi and Megan Stoddart came in with rounds of 85 and 86, 64th and 66th places, respectively.

Santa Clara wraps up play Saturday, April 7 in what is their final tune-up before the WCC Championships in Lompoc, Calif. which begin Monday, April 16.
