Boise State Invitational Quote Sheet - 10/10/06

Oct. 10, 2006

Recap

Head coach Polly Schulze, on tournament: "We really showed some progress out there. We've got a lot of work to do on our short games, which cost us a bunch of strokes. We weren't really able to save a lot of pars which is something we'll need to get better on up in Vancouver."

Schulze, on team's performance: "We've been working really hard on our mental games, and the girls really battled. With all the bad weather yesterday, they really did well to stay focused."

Schulze, on play of Samantha Trask: "She was our number one player her freshman and sophomore years. After not being able to play last year, we are very glad to have her back, and are happy to see her get such a strong start."

Samantha Trask, on her final round: "It's always nice to be in the 70s. Too bad I wasn't able to drop any of those long putts today!"

Trask, on tournament: "We've been working on our mental games and I've really done well to put it into practice. When the storm came in yesterday I was really able to stay positive and remain confident in my game. It was a great first step and I am really happy to start off the season the way I did."

Corey Utsurogi, on the first tournament of the season: "I think it was a great start. We've been trying a lot of new things and have been working on our short games. We have a couple of new people we're working with and they are helping us out a lot.

Ella Sanman, on her final round: "I had a rough start. I was +3 after the 2nd hole so I really had to pull it together and play strong. I managed to stay calm and was able to play my game the rest of the day. Being the 3rd round, I had a little more experience with the course and knew exactly where I needed to be."
