Santa Clara Gets Fall Season Underway Monday In Boise

Oct. 7, 2006

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara women's golf team will get their fall season underway on Monday, October 9 from Boise, Idaho. The team will participate in the Boise State Invitational at the Banbury Golf Course.

The team has worked very hard this off season working on their mental games, and head coach Polly Schulze is excited about the results she's seeing.

"I can already see the difference in the girls in practice", Schulze said. "Our first tournament will tell us what we have done well and what still needs work."

In 2005, Megan Stoddart was the champion at the Boise Invitational, so Santa Clara is looking for another strong outing from the senior. As a team, Santa Clara finished 12th, behind WCC rival Portland, who finished tied for 8th.

After a practice round on Sunday, the tournament will get underway with 36 holes on Monday followed by 18 on Tuesday.
