SCU Softball Raises and Donates $2,300 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Santa Clara University softball program and its supporters were able to raise and donate $2,300 to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through volunteering to participate in the 13th annual Silicon Valley 'Light The Night Walk' in San Jose on Saturday, Oct. 22.

The event has been an inspirational evening of healing and hope for local patients and families affected by blood cancer.

"Our team was tremendous in their fundraising efforts for the Light The Night Walk, as we raised $2,300 which will go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society," said Santa Clara head coach Lisa Mize. "We want to thank everyone who helped make this event successful and donated to the cause. It was a beautiful warm night for the two miles in downtown San Jose and a great way for our team to be together and bond."

The event not only raised awareness and dollars for a terrific cause, the night featured live music, great food and an exciting Kid's Area. The Light The Night Walk is a wonderful opportunity to gather with family, friends and neighbors for a truly magical evening.

The Bronco softball team is currently in the midst of its fall season. Be sure to check out and follow Santa Clara softball's Twitter (@SCUSoftball) and the team's official Facebook page for more updates and information about the team throughout the year!
