Athletics Sets New Day of Giving Record!

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The numbers have been tabulated and Santa Clara Athletics set records during the 10th Annual Day of Giving.

Spearheaded by a $1,000,000 donation from Steve and Susan Sordello, along with 37 individual challenge gifts for several teams and programs, Santa Clara Athletics led all university departments with $2,041,924 total dollars raised from 2,051 donations. Santa Clara University ended the monumental day with $5,479,791 raised from 6,078 total donations.

The funds raised during the Day of Giving will have a transformational impact for Bronco student-athletes. "What a historic day for Santa Clara Athletics! The support our donors, alumni, friends, and family showed our student-athletes and coaches during SCU's 10th Annual Day of Giving is truly awe-inspiring," director of athletics Renee Baumgartner stated. "Thank you to all Broncos who contributed towards this record-breaking effort! Your support enables us to continue to elevate the student-athlete experience at Santa Clara and compete for championships!"

The total dollars raised for Athletics doubled last year's previous record year ($997,414), while the 2,040 total donations is also a new record, breaking the previous mark of 1,990 set in 2022. The Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship finished second across SCU departments with $985,350 raised, with the School of Engineering rounding out third with $445,410.
