Thursday night his RBI single, scoring Jackie Bradley, Jr., in the 10th propelled the Red Sox to a 8-7 win over the Mariners. Again and again he comes up with the key play this year and now it's time for a bit of a Bay Area homecoming.
Former Bronco outfielder Daniel Nava '06 returns to the Bay Area this weekend for a key series as a member of the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox are in town to play a three game series with the Oakland As, with many are calling it an ALCS preview. Leading the American League East, the Red Sox have the second best record in baseball behind the St. Louis Cardinals. The Oakland As are in first place of the American League West, one game in front of the Texas Rangers.
After leading the WCC in hitting in 2006, much has been written about Nava since he started his major league career with a bang - a grand slam in his first at bat in the big leagues on June 12, 2010.
