SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Despite being in the middle of summer break, Santa Clara baseball was hard at work in July putting on youth camps for players aged 7-13. The Broncos welcomed 393 total campers over a four-week period in July.
"It was a great summer for RD Academy at Santa Clara University," said Director of Operations Ben Campopiano. "Our youth baseball camps were completely sold out every week, and close to 400 youth players got to experience our camps and Bronco baseball. The feedback we received from campers and parents was awesome and we can't wait for another great summer in 2014."
Every camper got a shirt, hat, lunch and five days of professional instruction. Camps are designed to be fun, developmental, and competitive for kids of all ages and skill levels.
Each camper received plenty of instruction, as there was a six-to-one staff to camper ratio. The newest Bronco coach, Sean Riley, was the on field director while head coach Dan O'Brien directed the camp and Campopiano was the director of operations.
