Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball – Alex Reelfs
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara baseball announced the 11th member of its incoming recruiting class for the 2018-19 season, Alex Reelfs.  The right-handed pitcher currently attends Los Altos High School in Los Altos, California where he was a team captain as a junior.

"I chose Santa Clara for various reasons. One of them is the determination of the coaches.  Coach Filter has a desire to make me not only a better player but also a better person.  The campus is beautiful and it is near my hometown.  I look forward to putting my all into this team," said Reelfs.

Reelfs has pitched a total of 150.1 innings in his three varsity seasons including 88 innings last season.  In his junior year, Reelfs threw a pair of no-hitters among his seven complete games while striking out 72 batters and walking 12.

"Alex is big right-hander, six-foot-six, 220 pounds, who is a local player.  He throws a lot of innings for his high school and is a strike throwing machine that just pounds the strike zone.  He has a bright future at Santa Clara as he grows into his body.  He's up to 90 (miles per hour) and I wouldn't be shocked if that number climbs the next couple of years.  We are excited to have him," said Broncos head coach Rusty Filter.

Our next future Bronco, Nicholas Sampson, will be announced later in the week.
