"I'm glad we won. I'm glad our guys figured out a way to win," said head coach Kerry Keating. "This was the first time where what we've envisioned the crowd to be, it really was tonight. We played our hearts out at Saint Mary's the last game and that had a little bit to do with this (the win). Saint Mary's is an NCAA Tournament team and this was an NCAA Tournament type of game."

Along with Bryant, freshman Kevin Foster finished the game with double figures with 26 points. For Saint Mary's, redshirt juniors Wayne Hunter and Omar Samhan each scored 10 points and junior Diamond Simpson led the way with 11 points. Samhan also had 15 rebounds for the Gaels.

Santa Clara (13-13, 5-4) captured the lead in the first half with the help of Foster's 18 points, including being 3-3 for three-pointers. Bryant had 7 rebounds and freshman James Rahon led with 3 assists. For Saint Mary's (19-4, 6-3), Hunter led with 7 points and fellow redshirt junior Omar Samhan had 8 rebounds. The Broncos shot 60 percent from the field and shot 83.3 percent from the three-point line for the first half.

In the second half, the Broncos went on a 10-0 run between 19:36 to 13:50 and the Gaels responded with a 9-0 run of their own right after the Broncos. Additionally in the second half, Bryant scored 9 straight points for the Broncos and finished with 21 points for the game.
