Men's Rowing Wins Pair of Races in Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. – Santa Clara men's rowing won a pair of races against Gonzaga and Washington State Saturday on Silver Lake.

"The team had a good trip to Spokane and it was our first opportunity to lineup against one of our conference competitors this year," Santa Clara head coach Jay Farwell said. "Both boats performed well and came away with a win over Gonzaga and Washington State. We still have a lot of things to work on and tune-up over the next week and a half as we prepare for the Western Sprints Championship."

In the Varsity 8 race, the Broncos finished with a time of 6:03.56, ahead of the Bulldogs' 6:08.46 and the Cougars' 6:18.72.

The 2nd Varsity 8 saw Santa Clara finish at 6:10.2 with Gonzaga at 6:15.7, and Washington State at 6:36.6.
