Stampede Together: Continue the Momentum Campaign

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – In its effort to maintain a first-class experience for student-athletes, Santa Clara Athletics is launching the 'Stampede Together: Continue the Momentum' fundraising campaign, which will help mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and allow the department to continue providing the resources so important for Bronco student-athlete success and well-being.

The 'Stampede Together: Continue the Momentum' campaign goal of $2 million will support a number of areas including academic resources, sports medicine, support for fifth-year scholarships, nutrition, COVID testing and mental wellness services.

"We largely rely on revenues generated by events and the support of our donors," director of athletics Renee Baumgartner said. "We have taken steps to be fiscally responsible in the face of the Covid-19 crisis, but those steps alone will not be enough to recoup the resources necessary to maintain our student-athlete experience."

Santa Clara Athletics has built incredible momentum and positioned its student-athletes for even more success. The most recent example being the state-of-the-art Stephen C. and Patricia A. Schott Athletic Excellence Center, a 50,000-square-foot training facility.

"It's a game-changer for our student-athletes and coaches," Baumgartner said.

Bronco Athletics has been preparing for the 2020-21 season and attempting to mitigate the financial impact of COVID-19.

"The support of our incredible donors and alumni is crucial in helping us get through these challenging times," Baumgartner said.
