SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Santa Clara men's golf team returns to the links after a month off from tournament play, competing in the 14-team Arizona National Invitational Tournament, beginning Sunday at the 7,262-yard, par-72, Omni Tucson National Catalina Golf Course.

The event will span three days with teams playing a single round of 18 holes each day. All rounds are set to begin at 7 a.m. PT. Competing alongside the Broncos are host Arizona, Colorado State, Iowa State, Nevada, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Notre Dame, San Jose State, Stephen F. Austin, UC Davis, Utah, UTEP, and Wyoming.

Sophomore Hayden Shieh, who leads the Broncos with a 70.60 stroke average, heads the Broncos five-player team. He is joined by juniors Tyler Kertson and Evan McLeod, and freshmen Michiel Eyre III and Charlie Watson.

The Catalina Course has hosted over 30 PGA Tour events and has been selected as one of Golf Digest's "75 Best Golf Resorts in North America." Omni also hosted the 2006 NCAA Regionals.

Santa Clara hasn't participated in a competition since an eighth-place finish at the 17-team Arizona Intercollegiate at the end of January. The Broncos will now play two events within a week span. Following the NIT is the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate in Scottsdale, Ariz. on Mar. 5-6.
