  • Women's Rowing Looking for Walk-Ons for the Fall Quarter

    The Santa Clara women's rowing team is looking for walk-ons who are new to the sport but wish to continue to their athletic careers in college at the Division I level.

  • Two Women's Rowers Named CRCA Scholar-Athletes

    Santa Clara women’s rowing had two student-athletes named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Scholar-Athletes. Senior Brenda Arellano ’15 and sophomore Hollynd Boyden ’17 were honored after being named WCC All-Academic and Honorable Mention, respectively.

    Santa Clara women’s rowing finished its season at the WCC Championships on May 16 at Lake Natoma in Sacramento. The Broncos also has two rowers, Brittany Peters and Molly Walker, named to the 2015 All-WCC Women’s Rowing Team.

    The Santa Clara women’s rowing season will wrap up Sat., May 16 at the WCC Championships on Lake Natoma in Sacramento. The Broncos are looking to finish the season strong despite some injuries. Santa Clara Broncos (SCB) spoke to Bronco head coach John Wojtkiewicz (JW) about the upcoming races.
  • Seven Women's Rowers Named All-Academic

    With the WCC Championships this weekend, Santa Clara women’s rowing had seven players honored by the conference for their work in the classroom. Brenda Arellano was named to the All-Academic Team while Britney Belme, Katie Bond, Hollynd Boyden, Jacqueline Cummings, Analisa Goossens, and Mary Smith were all Honorable Mention.

    Santa Clara women’s rowing competed at the WIRA Championships in Lake Natoma from April 24-26. The Broncos competed in xxx races with their top finish coming in the women’s pair where they finished second. They wrap-up the season Sat., May 16 at the WCC Championships, also in Lake Natoma.

    Santa Clara women’s rowing will return to competition on March 28 and 29 at the San Diego Crew Classic. The Broncos are coming off a strong showing at the Davis Invitational at the beginning of the month where they won four of five races, and came in second in the other.     Santa Clara women’s rowing opened the season at the Davis Invitational on Saturday. The Broncos had a strong showing, finishing first in the Varsity 8, Varsity 4, Novice 4, and JV 4, while finishing second in the Novice 8.   • Santa Clara Women's Rowing to Host Black Velvet Feb. 21

    Santa Clara women's rowing will celebrate the tradition of Black Velvet on Sat., Feb. 21 at the Lexington Reservoir. The celebration marks the beginning of the spring rowing season. This year at the boat blessing the Broncos will be dedicating a new 40th anniversary four, the "40th Anniversary 1974-2014" and a new pair, "The Duber." The Duber was named after Robert Dubcich who passed from thyroid cancer and is the reason Santa Clara women's rowing works to create awareness of thyroid cancer.

    On Sat., Jan. 17, 2015 Santa Clara University Alumni Association will host a Pasta Feed and Bronco Legends Celebration in the Pat Malley Fitness Center. The Pasta Feed will being at 12:30 with a men’s basketball game vs. San Francisco to follow at 3 p.m. This year's Bronco Legends program will honor the 50th Anniversary of Rowing at SCU.
