SANTA CLARA, Calif. — On this week's edition of the Bronco Weekly Sports Wrap, hosts and student-athletes Denzel Johnson and Nici Gilday kick off their final quarter with EYEBRONCO by giving you the latest in Bronco Sports.
Baseball took two of three from Pacific at Schott Stadium over the weekend to win their first WCC series of the season. The team had a pair of comeback victories on Friday and Saturday, and hosted Nevada for their ninth game in 11 days Monday. EYEBRONCO reporter David Gentile talked with winning pitcher Kevin George after Saturday's matchup with the Tigers. Baseball also defeated No. 26 Nevada 3-0 on Monday. Next up is San Francisco at home starting Thursday at 6 p.m., followed by first pitch times of Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m.
Sand volleyball continued its strong start to the season on Saturday and Sunday in Santa Cruz. The Broncos topped Cal Poly and Cal but fell to Hawaii, finishing as runner-up to the No. 3 Rainbow Wahine. They are back in action at Sacramento State on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Women's water polo dropped their conference match at Pacific on Saturday. They get back in the pool on Thursday vs. Fresno Pacific at 3:30 p.m. in the Sullivan Aquatic Center.
Softball dropped a midweek doubleheader to UMKC and then had the weekend off to enjoy a bit of Spring Break. Take a look at some of EYEBRONCO's highlights from the matchup with the Kangaroos. The Broncos begin WCC play on Thursday vs. LMU at 4 p.m.
Men's tennis dropped two matches in Southern California over the weekend to San Diego State and San Diego. They continue WCC play Friday vs. LMU and Saturday vs. Pepperdine at the Degheri Tennis Center.
Track races this Friday at the SF State Distance Carnival and at the Stanford Invitational. The Stanford Invitational will continue on Saturday.
Men's golf finished in 12th place at the Goodwin hosted by Stanford last week. They return to the links on April 6 in Scottsdale at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic.
The women's golf team finished ninth at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic in Maui. They also head to Arizona starting on April 6 for the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic.
Both men's and women's rowing were at the San Diego Crew Classic over the weekend. The men took third place in the Collegiate Varsity Grand Final and the women raced in five events.
