The No. 10 Santa Clara women's soccer team (7-2-2) suffered just its second loss of the season, falling 1-0 to No. 15 UCLA on the road.  A goal by Iman Bearde in the 33rd minute was the only goal scored in the game.

The Broncos were outshot, 14-4, and were unable to get an attempt on the net.  UCLA goalie Chante' Sandiford did not have to make save in the game.  Bearde's goal was assisted by two Bruins, Jenna Richmond and Elise Britt.

Sophomore Lauren Matheson led the Santa Clara offense with two shots coming off the bench, freshman Julie Johnston and senior Maxine Goynes also registered a shot.  Junior goalie Bianca Henninger made four saves.

"The girls played hard today," said head coach Jerry Smith.  "In terms of possession, we were the better team but we didnt create as many dangerous chances as we needed to."

The Broncos will face their final Pac-10 opponent of the regular season on the road next Sunday at 1 p.m. in the annual Bay Area clash against No. 2 Stanford.
