Anessa Patton Named WCC Player Of The Month

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Senior forward Anessa Patton was named the WCC Women's Soccer Player of the Month for October, as announced yesterday by the West Coast Conference.

Patton was the Broncos' clutch player for the month, scoring five goals and one assist in eight games played (six starts).  Santa Clara went 5-3 in October and in four of those five wins, Patton registered the game-winning goal. 

The Fresno, Calif.-native's best single-game output of the month came on Oct. 22 at home in a 5-0 victory over Gonzaga, where she played a part in Santa Clara's first three goals, scoring two and assisting on one.

Patton was also the named the WCC Women's Soccer Player of the Week on Oct. 11 for scoring the Broncos' lone goal in a 1-0 win over San Diego in Santa Clara's WCC-opener.

Patton was selected over the other following nominees: Cassie Geerdts (Gonzaga), Tawni Martino (LMU), Kristin DeGrandmont (Pepperdine), and Danielle Foxhoven (Portland).
