SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Getting set for the second season in the West Coast Conference, Santa Clara softball announced its 2014 fall schedule. The Broncos will play eight games, all on the road.
"We will use these fall exhibition games to move lineups around, allow our new players to get some live game action and adjust to the college game," said Santa Clara head coach Lisa Mize. "Fall is a great time for us to get a feel for the team, see our strengths, and recognize the areas that need improvement."
The Broncos open things up on Sat., Oct. 18 at 12 p.m. vs. San Jose State and play again at 2 p.m. vs. CSU Monterey Bay. Both games will be played at San Jose State. On Sun., Oct. 19 Santa Clara plays at San Francisco State at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. The following weekend Santa Clara travels to Cal for games at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. before wrapping-up the spring season at CSU Stanislaus at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
Santa Clara will also host the 2014-15 Season Kickoff Event on Fri., Oct. 17. On Sat., Oct. 18, after the games at San Jose State, they will take part in a Light the Night Walk for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society at 7 p.m.
