Women's Tennis Defeats San Jose State 5-2

SANTA CLARA, Calif.- The Santa Clara women's tennis team defeated local rival San Jose State yesterday in a 5-2 contest. The Broncos improve to 13-4 on the season and have a 3-2 record in the West Coast Conference.

Santa Clara started the day off right with a complete sweep of all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Freshman duo Kelly Lamble and Maggie McGeorge improved their impressive doubles record to 13-2 at the No. 1 doubles spot, defeating Olivia Marshall and Jennifer Williams 8-6. Lamble and McGeorge are currently on a seven-match winning streak in doubles.

In singles play, Lamble, McGeorge, and freshmen Alex Zaniewski and Jessica Agra all picked up wins to defeat the Spartans in a convincing 5-2 victory.

The Broncos will travel down to San Luis Obispo to face Cal Poly on April 10. First serve is still TBA, check back with SantaClaraBroncos.com for updates.
