April 17, 2010

SANTA CLARA, Calif.- The Santa Clara women's tennis team faced a tough Pacific team to lose 6-1 today in Stockton. The Broncos are 13-7 on the season and 3-2 in West Coast Conference play.

Santa Clara was swept in doubles play to lose the doubles point for the day. Freshman Jessica Agra was the lone victor for the day at the No. 5 position, defeating Pacific's Kateryna Nezhura 6-0, 6-3.

"Pacific is a good test for us before the WCC tournament this week," said Bronco head coach Ben Cabell. "The USF match will determine the seeding for the tournament and the match could go either way so we'll see what happens."

The Broncos will travel to San Diego to compete in the West Coast Conference tournament from Apr. 23-25. Check back with SantaClaraBroncos.com for updates.
