Santa Clara, Calif. - The Bronco women's tennis team will make its final trip of the fall season to San Luis Obispo Friday Nov. 19 to compete in a team hidden-duals format against UC Santa Barbara and San Francisco. Four weeks have passed since the Broncos last played in a tournament, when freshman Katie Le defeated Oregon's Julia Metzger 6-1;6-1 and sophomore Kelly Lamble beat Stanford's Jennifer Yen 1-6; 6-3; 6-3 in the ITA Regionals. After this long respite head coach Ben Cabell is eager to get back in the action.
"It was nice to have a little break, but we're looking forward to wrapping up our fall season. I think we feel the most prepared for this tournament out of any all fall just because we had the most time to practice."
This last fall tournament will allow the coaching staff to try out different playing combinations. "We're still working on finding our strongest doubles teams for the season. We're excited to see how much are team from last year has improved with the addition of our new freshmen."
On Friday Nov. 19, doubles play begins at 10 a.m. and singles action starts at 12:30 p.m. On both Saturday Nov. 20 and Sunday Nov. 21 doubles play starts at 9 a.m. with singles action following at 10:30 a.m.
