Battling To Third Set, Katie Le Falls In Santa Clara's First-Ever NCAA Women's Singles Championship MatchMay 23, 2012Making history Wednesday by playing in Santa Clara’s first-ever NCAA Women's Singles Championship match, Bronco sophomore Katie Le pushed it to a third set in singles with a thrilling second-set victory, but couldn’t hold on and lost 6-7(4), 7-5 and 0-6 to No. 37 Abigail Tere-Apisah of Georgia State.

Katie Le to Play in Santa Clara's First-Ever NCAA tournament Singles Match WednesdayMay 21, 2012All Bronco fans eyes are expected to be turned to the NCAA website at 8 am on Wednesday when Santa Clara sophomore Katie Le takes to the courts in Santa Clara's first-ever NCAA Championship Singles match. Le will play Abigail Tere-Apisah of Georgia State at 8 am (Pacific) on Wed., May 22 in Athens, Ga. at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on the campus of the University of Georgia.

Agra's Life-Long Tennis Experiences World-Wide Pay Off With All-WCC HonorsMay 10, 2012Playing on one of the top doubles teams in the West Coast Conference, junior Jessica Agra received First Team All-WCC in doubles this season with sophomore Katie Le as a part of the Bronco women’s tennis team. Le Named WCC Player of the Year; Three Receive All-WCC HonorsMay 02, 2012Setting the tone from the start of the fall season, Santa Clara University sophomore Katie Le was named the 2012 West Coast Conference Player of the Year on Wednesday. Based on overall season performance and the results from the WCC Championships, the Santa Clara women’s tennis team collected four West Coast Conference honors from the WCC coaches’ vote as well.

WCC Player of the Year Katie Le Grabs School’s First-Ever Individual Bid to NCAA TournamentMay 02, 2012Learning earlier Wednesday she was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Year, Santa Clara sophomore Katie Le got an even bigger surprise later when Bronco head coach Ben Cabell called to tell the Milpitas native that she received an at-large bid the NCAA Tournament in singles. It is the first-ever individual bid for a men’s or women’s tennis player at Santa Clara.

WCC Championship Brackets and All-Academic Teams Announced for Women's TennisApril 23, 2012The Bronco women have secured the No. 5 seed and will play No. 8 seed Gonzaga in the first round on Wednesday, April 25 at 12:30 p.m. Sophomore No. 48 Katie Le and junior Kelly Lamble were both awarded top honors on the WCC All-Academic Team announced Monday as well, and junior Maggie McGeorge and senior Kacie Wagner received Honorable Mentions for Santa Clara.

Santa Clara Women's Tennis, Men's Cross Country Lead Athletic Department with 3.5+ GPAs in Winter 2012April 18, 2012Santa Clara University’s student-athletes recorded a 3.107 grade point average (GPA) for the Winter 2012 quarter, topping 3.0 or better for the 15th time in 16 quarters. In addition 105 student-athletes achieved a 3.5 GPA or higher this quarter - 35 more than last quarter - and 81 Bronco student-athletes have a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA. Santa Clara’s cumulative GPA for its student-athletes is 3.048.

Santa Clara Women's Tennis Falls at San Diego after Rain DelayApril 14, 2012After rainy weather forced the Santa Clara women’s tennis team’s match to be postponed on Friday afternoon, the Broncos (9-9; 2-3 WCC) resumed play on Saturday morning, finishing the No. 3 singles match. The Santa Clara women fell to the Toreros 4-0.

No. 72 Women's Tennis Wins at BYUMarch 27, 2012No. 72 Santa Clara started the day in Provo on a high note, winning the doubles point and then finished off first-year member BYU in singles, winning three of the six singles matches. The Bronco women move to 8-5 and are 2-0 in league play this year with their 6-1 win over USF on March 2 as well. The Cougars move to 5-11 and 1-2 in their first year of play in the WCC.

Women's Tennis Falls 4-3 at Utah StateMarch 26, 2012Playing at the Logan Sports Academy and Racquet Club at Utah State on Monday before Santa Clara's league-opener on the road vs. BYU on Tuesday, No. 72 Santa Clara fell 4-3 to Utah State on Monday. The women move to 7-5 and are 1-0 in league play this year with their 6-1 win over USF on March 2. Utah State moves to 7-7.
