Women's Tennis to Play New Mexico St. and No. 6 Stanford over the Easter Weekend

Santa Clara, Calif.—After a close match against Loyola Marymount last Sunday, the Santa Clara women's tennis team steps back onto the Degheri Tennis Center courts to take on New Mexico State on Thur., April 5 at 2:00 p.m. The Broncos are currently 8-7 overall and 2-2 in league.

Santa Clara takes a break from WCC opponents this weekend after competing against BYU, Pepperdine and LMU last week.  The women will also play No. 6 Stanford on Sat., April 7 at 9:30 a.m. before they return to WCC contests and prepare for the WCC Championships at the end of April.

New Mexico St.

The Aggies (9-5, 1-1 WAC) have won eight of their last 10 matches after dealing Division II power Abilene Christian only its third loss of the season. On their road trip to the Bay Area, New Mexico St. will also play San Jose State on Wednesday before coming to the Mission Campus.

Stanford

Stanford is currently ranked No. 6 by the ITA, but has reached the No. 1 ranking previously this season. The Cardinals overall record this season is 13-0 and they have beaten nine other ranked opponents. Recently, Stanford beat No. 28 University of Arizona 4-0.
