Santa Clara, Calif.—Over the President's Day weekend, the No. 73 Santa Clara University women's tennis team will compete against two ranked opponents on the Mission Campus. On Saturday, February 16th the Broncos take on No. 64 UC Davis at 12:00 p.m. Then on Monday, February 20th the women welcome No. 67 UC Santa Barbara to the Degheri Tennis Center at 11:00 a.m.
After this weekend, Santa Clara (4-2) will have played five of their eight matches against ranked opponents. The UC Davis Aggies are 3-6 and the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos are 1-4 on the season.
Nationally ranked at No. 39 (as of Feb. 13) Katie Le continues to lead the squad with a 4-2 record at the No. 1 position for the Broncos. With her doubles partner, Jessica Agra, the duo also holds a 4-2 record at the No. 1 position. Juniors Kelly Lamble and Maggie McGeorge have also been putting up strong numbers (4-2) for the Broncos at the No. 2 doubles position. All in all, if this weekend's matches come down to the doubles results like they have in the past, the women are confident and prepared.
