SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The No. 62 Santa Clara men's tennis team won 4-3 vs. Cal Poly on Sun., Feb. 27 at San Luis Obispo, Calif. The Broncos improves to 7-4 overall.

SCU will come back to court on Sat., Mar. 5 to host a dual match against Nevada. The first serve is scheduled at 10:00 a.m.

After disappointing losses in the doubles point, including a match against the nationally-ranked No. 36 Andre Dome and Alexander Sonesson Cal Poly doubles pair, Santa Clara had a great bounce back with four victories in singles action to defeat the Mustangs.

The Mustangs did not let go of singles points easily to the Broncos. Maxime Armengaud, John Lamble, and Nicolas Vinel topped the Mustangs players in No. 2, 3, and 4 singles position, respectively, edging out a tie-breaker set in each match.

The player of the match is Tom Pham, who extended his winning-streak to six when he defeated Cal Poly's Alexander Sonesson at No. 5 singles position, 6-3, 6-1. Pham has been playing exceptionally well so far leading the team with eight victories in dual matches. He was also the first Bronco player to reach double digit victories in 2010-11 overall seasons, which includes the matches last fall.

Go Broncos!
