SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The No. 57-ranked Santa Clara University men's tennis team will take on a pair of West Coast Conference opponents this weekend, first facing Saint Mary's College on Fri., Apr. 1, then Gonzaga University on Sun., Apr. 3. SCU is currently 9-6 overall this season and 1-1 versus the WCC.

The Broncos are 19-16 all-time against St. Mary's (8-7, 1-1 WCC) and defeated the Gaels twice last season with a 6-1 score on Apr. 17, 2010 and a 4-0 decision at the first match of the WCC tournament in San Diego on Apr. 22, 2010.

In the last meeting with the Bulldogs, SCU swept Gonzaga (5-9, 0-2 WCC) with a lopsided 6-0 victory April 4, 2010. Because the two teams played singles first and Santa Clara won every singles point, the teams did not play doubles.

Santa Clara had a strong record of 5-2 in WCC contests last season and winning the WCC title has become a realistic yearly goal.

Friday's match versus Saint Mary's is set to begin at 3 p.m. in Moraga, Calif. and first serve for Sunday's match vs. Gonzaga is set to begin at 10:00 a.m. at Santa Clara's Mission Campus Degheri Tennis Center.
