Men's Tennis Ends Regular Season With Big Win Over Sacramento State

SANTA CLARA, Calif.- The No. 49-ranked Santa Clara men's tennis team ended its regular season by earning a victory in its final home match, sweeping Sacramento State 7-0 Mondayat Degheri Tennis Center. The Broncos finish the regular season with a 13-7 record overall and a 2-2 record in West Coast Conference play.

The Broncos will carry on with the winning momentum to San Diego, Calif., where they will compete in the West Coast Conference tournament from Apr. 21-23. Check back with SantaClaraBroncos.com for updates.

Santa Clara won the No. 1 and 2 doubles matches to earn the doubles point for the day. In singles play, Bronco junior Nicholas Vinel and freshman Keith Kamono started off the day on a good note for the Broncos with victories over Sacramento State's Josh Lorentzen, 6-3, 6-1, and Daniel Diaz, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 5 and 6 spots.

Although Kyle Dandan played a close match in the first set, he topped his opponent Jason Smith with a 7-5, 6-5 victory at No. 1 singles action to give the winning point of the last regular season match to Santa Clara.

Knowing the Broncos already had victory in hand, Maxime Armengaud, John Lamble, and Tom Pham fought without feeling complacent by winning at the No. 2, 3, and 4 spots to finish the match with a 7-0 sweep.
