COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Playing just one game this weekend, No. 18 Santa Clara men's water polo fell to No. 13 Air Force by a final of 14-9 in a match-up of WWPA opponents. The loss drops the Broncos to 7-10 overall and 6-6 in WWPA play.

Theo Nasser led Santa Clara on offense by scoring three goals, one each in the second, third and fourth quarter. Tucker Carlson continued his terrific season by scoring twice and Mark Davis, Conor Brown, Chase Schaaf and James Rude each scored one goal. C.J. Darienzo had four assists and Evan Chang had two earned ejections while also drawing a penalty shot. Nasser had two earned ejections to go along with his three goals and Garrett Johnson had three earned ejections. Between the pipes John Nash had five blocks and Matt Pritchett collected six.

"It was a tough game for us but I thought we came out with a lot of energy," said Santa Clara head coach Keith Wilbur. "We haven't played at Air Force in a long time and it's tough to get used to playing up here. It's a tough environment for anyone. I think we need to show more awareness on offense and defense and be better at decision-making on the ball."

Air Force jumped out to a 4-1 lead at the end of the first quarter and made the lead stand. At the end of the first half the Broncos trailed by a score of 9-3. The Broncos weren't able to get rolling on offense until the fourth quarter when they were able to outscore the Falcons 5-2, but it was too late and Air Force won 14-9.
