Broncos Fall to No. 6 Pacific on the Road

STOCKTON, Calif. – Playing outside its conference, No. 18 Santa Clara men's water polo fell at No. 6 Pacific 20-10. The loss drops Santa Clara to 7-11 overall while it is 6-6 in conference play.

On offense, Tucker Carlson led the way with three goals while Matt Kochalko scored twice. Matthew Burke, Kyle Nadel, Theo Nasser, Jimmy Moore and Evan Chang added one goal each. In goal, John Nash collected five blocks while Matt Pritchett had six.

The first quarter of the game saw 14 total goals scored with Santa Clara scoring five and the Tigers scoring nine. Pacific continued the offensive charge in the second quarter as it outscored the Broncos 6-0 to build a 15-5 halftime lead. The third quarter was more of the same as the Tigers scored five more times to make the score 20-6. Santa Clara was able to outscore Pacific 4-0 in the fourth quarter but it wasn't enough as the Broncos fell 20-10.
