Water Polo Falls to No. 3 Stanford

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Playing its second home game vs. a top-10 team in as many days, No. 19 Santa Clara men's water polo lost to No. 3 Stanford 24-7. The game was an improvement over the first meeting of the two teams earlier in the year, a 19-1 loss at the NorCals on September 15, The loss moves the Broncos' overall record to 9-16. 

Garratt Johnson had a big game for Santa Clara by scoring three goals and having thee earned ejections. Jimmy Moore added two goals of his own and Chris Nichols and Kyle Nadel added one each. Nasser and Evan Chang each picked up two earned ejections. Between the pipes John Nash had seven blocks and Matt Pritchett had three.

Santa Clara fell behind early and was unable to mount a comeback. After one quarter the Cardinal held a 6-1 lead and went into halftime up 10-3. The second half was 14-4 in favor of Stanford and the game ended 24-7.
