Men's Water Polo Falls on Senior Day to No. 16 UC Davis

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – On the final day of the regular season, No. 18 Santa Clara men's water polo fell to No. 16 UC Davis at the Sullivan Aquatic Center on Senior Day. Seniors C.J. D'Arienzo and John Nash were honored for their time on the Mission campus. The loss puts Santa Clara at 9-17 heading into the WWPA's.

Matt Kochalko led the way on offense with four goals while Mark Davis and Jimmy Moore each had two goals. Theo Nasser, Stephen Bilz and James Rude added one goal apiece. Kyle Nadel had three assists while Davis and Moore each had two. On defense Moore picked up three steals, Nasser and Rude each had two and Nadel had one. Garratt Johnson had two earned ejections. In net, Nash had four blocks while Matt Pritchett had six.

Santa Clara held a 4-3 lead at the end of the first quarter and a 8-7 lead going into halftime but the offense stalled in the second half and Davis was able to outscore the Broncos 3-1 in the third quarter and 3-2 in the fourth to come away with the 13-11 win.
