Women's Soccer Heads to Pacific Sunday

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Coming off its highest offensive output in four years, Santa Clara women's soccer plays its final West Coast Conference road match of the year Sunday at Pacific at 1 p.m.

On Friday, the Broncos topped Saint Mary's 6-1 behind a hat trick from Kelsey Turnbow. Santa Clara last scored six goals in a 6-3 win at Gonzaga that clinched the WCC title.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 10-0 all-time against Pacific with the first meeting coming in 1981. Last year the Broncos beat the Tigers 3-0 at home.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara (9-6-1, 4-1 WCC) has won three in a row and six of seven while outscoring opponents 12-3 during the winning-streak. The Broncos have outscored opponents 34-27 and put 111 of their 214 shots on target.

Turnbow leads the team with nine goals and 22 points while tying for the team-lead with four assists. Julie Doyle has scored six goals and has three assists and Maddy Gonzalez has scored five times while adding three assists. Melissa Lowder has made 48 saves for a .716 save percentage in 11 matches with a shutout. Courtney Ogren has appeared in six games and made 17 saves for a .680 save percentage while also collecting one shutout.

THE TIGERS
Pacific (5-9-2, 2-3 WCC) is coming off a 5-3 win over San Francisco but has not won two matches in a row this season. The Tigers have been outscored on the season 28-20 and outshot 243-217 with opponents holding a 117-93 edge in shots on goal.

Alex Husser leads the team in goals (4), assists (3), and points (11). Sigrid Aas and Brynd Thorolfsdottir have each scored three times with two assists each and Jessica Fogel has scored three goals. Six other Tigers have at least one goal.

Henriikka Makela has appeared in 11 games and made 51 saves for a .729 save percentage and has one shutout. Regan Heslop has played in eight matches and has 37 saves for a .804 save percentage and has two shutouts.
