FRISCO, Texas – Former Santa Clara women's soccer star Julie Ertz was awarded the Golden Ball at the recently completed Concacaf Women's Championship where the U.S. went 5-0 to take home the title and qualify for the 2019 World Cup.
Ertz is no stranger to awards, having been honored with the Bronze Ball when she captained the U.S. U-20's to a World Cup victory in 2012.
With the Broncos, she was a three-time All-American (2011-13) while taking home WCC Player of the Year honors in 2013 and Freshman of the Year honors in 2010. She was also a four-time All-West Region selection, being named second team as a freshman and first team each of the next three years.
