MALIBU, Calif. – Lamond Murray Jr. scored a game-high 25 points to lead a balanced scoring attack for Pepperdine, which downed the Santa Clara men's basketball team, 88-76, Saturday night in West Coast Conference action.

Stacy Davis posted 20 points and collected 10 rebounds, Jett Raines scored 15 and Ronnie Major added 11 for the Waves (17-11, 10-7), who have won three of the last four games. Davis and Raines were two of four seniors playing their final home game.

Jared Brownridge again led the scoring attack for the Broncos (10-18, 6-10), tallying 26 points. KJ Feagin scored 14 and Matt Hubbard added 11.

Brownridge connected on 10 of 20 field goals and had a team-high five assists, but the Broncos committed 11 turnovers and a season-high 30 personal fouls.

"If you don't set the tone early, that's what you get," Santa Clara head coach Kerry Keating said. "Credit Pepperdine for taking advantage."

The Waves connected on 26 of 34 free throws in the game, including 23 of 28 in the second half.

The Broncos started the second half on fire, hitting 10 of their first 13 from the floor. Brownridge scored five straight points to give the Broncos a 56-54 lead, their first since there was 11:19 remaining in the first half.

But the Waves used a 12-0 run midway through the second half to erase a 57-56 deficit.

Davis started the flurry, which covered a span of 2:14, with a pair of free throws and by the time Amadi Udenyi connected on a 3-point play the Waves led 68-57 with 7:50 left in the game.

The Broncos cut the deficit to six points three times in the final 4 minutes, but never got closer.

"It's a learning experience," Keating said. "We had a lead in the second half. We can only ride Jared so much. Guys have to be able to take care of the ball and we were unable to get to the free throw line in the second half."

Hubbard, Nate Kratch and Emmanuel Ndumanya all fouled out for the Broncos, who were attempting a Southern California sweep after downing Loyola Marymount, 76-72, Thursday in Los Angeles.

The foul trouble forced Santa Clara, which played quite a bit of zone in the game, to play with mostly four guards and one forward down the stretch.

The Waves took advantage inside all game, scoring 36 points in the paint and shooting 51 percent from the floor. Pepperdine was just 4 of 12 from behind the 3-point line.

In the first half, Brownridge continued his hot streak from the final 20 minutes of Thursday's game when he scored 23 of his 26 points on 6 of 11 shooting from the field, including 4-for-5 from behind the 3-point line.

He started the game 4-for-6 from the floor helping give the Broncos a 14-12 lead, but the Waves wrestled control in the final 7 minutes of the first half.

Feagin's layup with 7:02 left tied the game at 18-all, but the Waves scored nine of the next 12 points capped by Murray's 3-pointer less than 3 minutes later.

Murray was 10-for-19 from the floor in the game and Davis was 5 of 12 with four assists.

The Waves had 20 assists on 29 baskets and committed just seven turnovers.

The Broncos have two more regular season games, playing at Saint Mary's Thursday before their final home game vs. Pacific on Saturday.

Notes: With 26 points, Jared Brownridge (1,641) moved from 11th to 10th on the school's career list, passing Evan Roquemore (1,627/2010-14) … KJ Feagin (14 points) has scored in double figures in 14 of the last 20 games after hitting that mark just once in the first eight games … three of Santa Clara's 17 disqualifications this occurred in the game, with Nate Kratch, Matt Hubbard and Emmanuel Ndumanya all fouling out … the Broncos used the same starting lineup – Brownridge, Feagin, Hubbard, Ndumanya and Kai Healy – for the second-straight game.

The Pepperdine Series: The series began in 1956 with the Broncos holding a 73-59. The teams have split the last 10 games, including both this season.
