FORT WORTH, Tex. – The Santa Clara
University men's golf team placed sixth in the 18-team field
Tuesday at the UTA/Waterchase Invitational in Fort Worth. Cory Mehl
finished the event 3-under par and was among the tournament's top 5
players.
The Broncos got off to a great start, sitting in second place as a
team after round one Monday but slipped four spots after rounds two
and three. SCU carded team scores of 283, 291 and 298 to go 8-over
par over the two days and 36-holes.
Among the field of 100, Santa Clara placed three golfers in the
tournament's top 25. Senior Scott
Travers was 2-over par and finished in a tie for
18th and sophomore Rick Lamb went
3-over after a final round 77 to drop to 24th.
