SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Santa Clara University men's golf team will be back in action Monday, Oct. 25, in the Saint Mary's Invitational at the Bayonet and Blackhorse golf courses in Seaside, Calif.  The Broncos, who have been off since October 4, are rested and ready to play.

"We have enjoyed the break, but I think everyone is looking forward to getting back at it," said Bronco head coach Robert Miller.

Indeed, the Broncos are ready to put this month's disappointing ninth place finish at the Cabo Collegiate Tournament in Querencia, Mexico, behind them.

The Broncos will need to play more consistently do so according to Coach Miller, especially against such deep competition on difficult courses.  The 15-team field for the Saint Mary's Invitational is strong, including: Saint Mary's, Cal Poly, Florida Gulf Coast, Loyola (MD), Loyola Marymount, Marquette, Miami (OH), Nevada, Northern Illinois, Notre Dame, Pacific, San Francisco, UC Santa Barbara and UC Irvine.

Bayonet and Blackhorse are notoriously tough courses, but as Miller points out, "everyone plays the same course, so it shouldn't make much of a difference in how we place."

The 54-hole tournament will be broken into two days of play, with 36 holes being played on Monday and the final 18 played on Tuesday. Live hole-by-hole scoring of the tournament will be available through Golfstat at www.golfstatresults.com.
