Broncos Take 10th At Tiger Invitational; Shieh Finishes Tied For Ninth

OPELIKA, Ala. – Entering today's final round tied for the tournament lead, Santa Clara freshman Hayden Shieh shot a 3-over 75 and fell into a tie for ninth-place at the Tiger Invitational, completed today at the Grand National Lake Course in Opelika.

As a team the Broncos shot a final round 298 and finished 10th in the 16-team field with an 892 total (303-291-298). Tournament host and ninth-ranked Auburn led wire-to-wire and ended 28 strokes better than runner-up Troy.

Shieh earned his fourth career top 10 finish ending the tournament five shots off the lead with his 3-under 213 total (69-69-75). Auburn's Michael Johnson claimed individual medalist honors finishing one shot better than Georgia State's J.J. Grey and two strokes better than a trio of golfers.

Carlos Briones and Tyler Kertson both shot a final round 2-over 74 and finished tied for 45th with a 225 (+9) total. Briones recorded a tournament-high 38 par rounds.

Gio Gandionco finished at 232 (78-76-78) tied for 69th and Michael Hultquist scored his finest round of the tournament with today's 75 to finish with a 238 total.

The Broncos travel to San Antonio, Tex. to compete in the Lone Star Invitational beginning Mar. 23.
