Men's Tennis Signs Blue Chip Recruit John Lamble

Nov. 12, 2009

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Today the Santa Clara men's tennis team signed high school senior John Lamble, a Blue Chip recruit, to join the Broncos squad next fall. After bringing on the nation's 15th ranked freshman recruiting class this season, Bronco head coach Derek Mills is excited to continue his team's recruiting success. Lamble, a senior at Saratoga High School, is currently ranked 13th nationally among high school senior recruits and holds a 23-9 record since 2008.

The Broncos are thrilled with their new addition. Mills responded, "We are ecstatic that John will be joining our team next fall. I have been watching John play for over two years and he has always been a guy that was on the top of our list. It's a wonderful feeling to have our top prospect join the Santa Clara men's tennis family."

Lamble has a family history at Santa Clara. Both of his parents attended SCU and his father, Mike, was part of the Bronco tennis team for three years. His sister, Kelly, is currently a freshman at SCU and has been making an impact on the women's tennis team.

The Broncos, who just closed out a successful fall tournament season last weekend, have high expectations for Lamble. "He is a guy that is going to make a big impact on the court right away. He is a great player and we are excited to have him join our young team next fall."
