SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Playing its fourth road game out of the last five, Santa Clara women's basketball heads to West Coast Conference leading Gonzaga Saturday at 2 p.m.

On Thursday at home, the Broncos lost a tight game to San Francisco 58-54.

SERIES HISTORY
Santa Clara is 29-37 all-time against Gonzaga with the first meeting coming in 1987-88. Earlier this year, the Bulldogs came into Leavey and left with a victory.

THE BRONCOS
Santa Clara's (5-13, 1-6 WCC) conference-leading defense allows 57.7 points per game while forcing 16.9 turnovers per game and collecting 9.4 steals per game.

Morgan McGwire leads the team in scoring (10.6 ppg), rebounding (8.7 pg), steals (2.2 pg), and blocks (1.9 pg). Ashlyn Herlihy is second on the team with 9.5 ppg and leads the way with 16 3-pointers made. She also adds 4.9 rpg. Kyla Martin's 4.8 assists per game is third in the WCC and she adds 8.7 ppg. Taylor Berry is second on the Broncos in rebounding with 6.6 pg and scores 7.8 ppg.

THE BULLDOGS
Gonzaga (14-4, 7-0 WCC) is riding a nine-game winning streak and is second in the conference in both scoring (72.8 ppg) and scoring defense (60.5 ppg). The Bulldogs plus-12.3 scoring margin is tops in the league.

Jill Barta scores 18.1 ppg, second in the WCC, and leads the team with 8.8 rpg as well. Zykera Rice is scoring 12.9 ppg with 5.7 rpg and Chandler Smith scores 11.4 ppg with 6.6 rpg. Jessie Loera leads Gonzaga with 3.8 apg and scores 6.4 ppg as well.
