SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's rowing gets its 2020 season underway with a dual against Cal Saturday at the Briones Reservoir.
"The team is looking forward to this first opportunity to test our speed against another team as we are definitely faster than last season, both on ergs and on the water," Santa Clara head coach Matt Pinschmidt said. "We are treating it as more of a scrimmage, or combined practice which will give us a chance to get a straight 2K in and then at least a few more, shorter pieces with lineup changes in between. If the conditions are fairly flat this Saturday, it will give us a great idea of where we're at heading into our more traditional races."
The Broncos welcome back Leila Chihab and Mollie Mertes who were both All-West Coast Conference last season.
