SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Santa Clara women's rowing have eight student-athletes honored by the West Coast Conference for their academic success. Irish Manalang, Mollie Mertes, and Mary Claire Simone were named to the WCC All-Academic Team with Julianna Bernado, Leila Chihab, Adriana Moses, Katie Rankin, and Emma Stinson being name honorable mention.
This is the third honor in a row for Manalang who has a 3.93 GPA as a neuroscience major.
Mertes was named for the second consecutive year and has a 3.84 GPA with a a major in finance.
Simone has a 3.99 GPA as a mathematics major. This is her first award.
Bernado, Chihab, and Moses were also honorable mention a year ago.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average while also being a significant contributor to her team.
