SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara University junior pitcher Jaime Forman-Lau set a new mark for single season strikeouts with her first of Wednesday's game against Western Washington.
With four Ks in Tuesday's contest against UC Santa Barbara, Forman-Lau tied former Bronco Jessica Accord's 1995 standard of 149. With four more strikeouts in her last outing, the junior from San Jose's Archbishop Mitty High School now has 153 for the new mark.
"Jaime's dominance on the mound this season has been an integral part of our team success," head coach Marcy Crouch said. "She is very talented and has an intense work ethic, making her very deserving of setting the new record."

Additionally, Forman-Lau has 12 wins on the season, tied for fourth in Bronco single-season annals. Her 1.25 ERA and seven shutouts currently place her second on the season leaderboard. She is holding opponents to a .202 batting average at the plate.
She has already been honored with the Pacific Coast Softball Conference's Pitcher of the Week honor on three occasions this season.
Forman-Lau joined the Broncos this season, after transferring from Stanford, where she has pitched at the College World Series. She brings postseason leadership experience to a young Bronco pitching group.
The Broncos, 18-14 on the season, will return to the field on Thursday, April 3, hosting 21st-ranked Oregon State in a non-conference double-header. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. at Marsalli Park.
