SANTA CLARA, Calif. – For the first time this season, the Santa Clara women's tennis is nationally ranked.

The Broncos (5-4) are No. 61 in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, their first appearance since being slotted No. 72 in the week of March 18, 2014.

Santa Clara picked up a pair wins last weekend, downing Cal Poly, 6-1, Saturday before upending then No. 39 South Alabama, 4-2, Sunday.

Daniella Silva has a team-high six dual singles wins this season, playing at the No. 3 position, while Madison Clarke is 5-3 in dual singles playing at No. 1 or No. 2.

Clarke has teamed with Chelby Cooke to post an impressive 7-1 mark this spring in doubles from the No. 2 position.

The Broncos are back in action Friday when they play host to UC Santa Barbara at 2 p.m. in Degheri Tennis Center.
