SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Coming off of a big upset against No. 39 South Alabama, the Santa Clara women's tennis team has ascended to No. 61 in the country and will face off against UC Santa Barbara at 2 p.m. on Friday.

"It's going to be a really tough match, (UC Santa Barbara) is really good this year, but we feel like we have a lot of confidence right now," said head coach Ben Cabell.

The Broncos (5-4) host the Gauchos (5-5) who boast the No. 18-ranked doubles team in the nation with Palina Dubavets and Stefani Stojic.

UC Santa Barbara is coming off of a 5-2 loss to the No. 35 University of Oregon last weekend.

"We're really proud of our last weekend, but it's just going to be a good tennis match," Cabell said. "Both teams are really good and we're really proud of our ranking; we want to make sure we hold on to it for the rest of the year."

The Gauchos are in the Bay Area this weekend for matches against Santa Clara, San Jose State and Saint Mary's.
