SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Daniella Silva was named the West Coast Conference Women's Singles Tennis Player of the Week.
Silva logged an impressive 6-3, 6-2 win over Bianca Mok during Saturday's 4-3 loss at the hands of then No. 34-ranked Denver. Silva, who was bumped from No. 3 to No. 2 singles, was able to even the match at 3-all and snap Mok's 11-match winning streak in the process.
Silva won her team-best eighth dual singles match of the season, including fourth straight, for the then 72nd-ranked Broncos.
Santa Clara, now No. 75 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association ranking, heads back to WCC play this weekend. The Broncos play at Pacific Friday (noon) and then at Saint Mary's Saturday (11 a.m.).
