WCC Recognizes Three on Women's Tennis for Academic Achievement

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara women's tennis had three players honored by the West Coast Conference Thursday for their work in the classroom. Nabila Farah and Daniella Silva were named WCC All-Academic and Chelby Cooke was honorable mention.

Silva, a senior with a 3.53 GPA as a political science major, receives her first academic honor. Earlier this year she was named All-WCC Second Team Singles and All-WCC Second Team Doubles with Farah. She finished the season playing out of the No. 1 spot and was second on the team with 11 dual singles wins. Her most wins came out of the No. 3 spot where she was 6-3.

Farah, a junior with a 3.75 GPA in civil engineering, also receives her first academic honor this year. In singles Farah finished with a team-high 14 dual wins. She and Silva competed all year in the No. 1 doubles spot and finished second on the team with 10 dual wins. In singles Farah finished with a team-high

Cooke, a senior finance major, was a 2014 WCC All-Academic honorable mention selection. This year she finished with eight dual singles wins, playing everywhere from No. 1 to No. 4 and was 12-6 in the No. 2 doubles spot with Madison Clarke.
