Cross Country's Nash, Crook, Greenough Named to WCC All-Academic Team; Nine Broncos Recognized in Conference Honors

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The West Coast Conference announced its 2014 Cross Country All-Academic Team on Thursday, and three Santa Clara Broncos have been selected for the team. Senior Amia Nash as well as redshirt junior Bryan Crook and junior Ryan Greenough were named to their respective WCC All-Academic teams.

They are joined by teammates and All-Academic Honorable Mention selections Audrey Hiatt, Kaitlyn Kuehn, Allison Maio, Tony Ferrari, Sean Roe and Peter Stephens.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his or her team.

2014 WEST COAST CONFERENCE WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY SCU ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

Amia Nash (Public Health Science — 3.56 GPA)

Nash, a senior from Edmonds, Wash., ran six times for the Broncos this fall. She capped the season with a personal best 6k time of 22:28.2 at the West Coast Conference Championships.

2014 WCC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY SCU ALL-ACADEMIC HONORABLE MENTION

Audrey Hiatt (Anthropology — 3.63), Kaitlyn Kuehn (English, Environmental Studies — 3.75), Allison Maio (Accounting — 3.54)

2014 WEST COAST CONFERENCE MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY SCU ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

Bryan Crook (Biology — 3.87), Ryan Greenough (Mechanical Engineering — 3.92)

Crook, a redshirt junior from Los Altos, Calif., ran five times for the Broncos this fall. He finished in 5th place at the WCC Preview Meet with a time of 24:37.7 in the men's 8k and posted the second-fastest Bronco time at the West Coast Conference championships by running the men's 8k in 24:22.9.

Greenough, a junior from Davis, Calif., ran four times for the Broncos this fall. He was the Broncos' fastest runner at the highly-competitive Roy Griak Invitational by posting a time of 25:56 in the men's 8k — good for 50th overall in the field of 301.
