Men's Basketball Releases 2015-16 Schedule

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara men's basketball released its 2015-16 schedule today. The Broncos will face two Elite 8 teams from a year ago in Arizona and Gonzaga as well as five teams that made the NCAA Tournament.

The season kicks off with an exhibition game on Nov. 6 vs. Notre Dame de Namur at the Leavey Center. Next up will be the 49th annual Cable Car Classic from Nov. 13-15. The Broncos will take on Lipscomb, Denver, and Milwaukee. Santa Clara then hits the road for the first time with a game on Nov. 19 at UC Riverside.

The highlight of the non-conference schedule will be a trip to Southern California for the Wooden Legacy. From Nov. 23-29 the Broncos will play four games, including a match up with Arizona on Nov. 26. They will also play UC Irvine on Nov. 23. On Nov. 27 they play Providence or Evansville. Potential opponents for the final game on Nov. 29 include Boise State, Boston College, and Michigan State. The tournament will take place in Titan Gym on the campus of Cal State Fullerton and in the Honda Center in Anaheim.

The team returns home for a crosstown matchup with San Jose State on Dec. 5. The final non-conference home game will be Dec. 15 vs. Arkansas Pine Bluff with the finale of the non-conference schedule coming at Nevada on Dec. 18.

West Coast Conference play kicks off Dec. 21 for the Broncos as they travel to Pacific. Rival Saint Mary's comes to Leavey two days later on Dec. 23. Santa Clara will host Gonzaga on New Year's Eve and welcome in BYU on Feb. 13.

Portland will be on the Mission campus Jan. 2 while the Southern California teams, Pepperdine and LMU, come Jan. 14 and 16. San Francisco visits the Broncos Jan. 21 with San Diego and BYU coming into Leavey Feb. 11 and Feb. 13.

The WCC Tournament will be held is Las Vegas from March 3-8.
