SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Jared Brownridge was named West Coast Conference Player of the Week after two big games over the weekend. Brownridge, who has scored 20 or more points in seven of the last eight games, averaged 24.5 points and 47 percent from the 3-point line in Santa Clara's two games against No. 24 Gonzaga and Portland.

Brownridge had a game-high tying 26 points on 6-for-9 shooting from behind the 3-point line in a near upset of Gonzaga on New Year's Eve. That was the highest point total by a Gonzaga opposing player this season.

He scored 23 points, including a perfect 13-for-13 effort from the free throw line, in Saturday's 84-77 victory vs. Portland. He connected on six free throws in the final 1:05 to help secure the win.
