Kratch Nominated for NABC/WBCA Good Works Team

INDIANAPOLIS – Nate Kratch of Santa Clara basketball was named a nominee for the 2016 Allstate NABC and WBCA Good Works Teams. This award shines a spotlight on a select group of student-athletes who have shown dedication to service in their communities.

Kratch, a fourth-year junior forward, has played in 74 career games, including 33 starts, and has already graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology. A 2014-15 Academic All-West Coast Conference selection, Kratch is currently enrolled in graduate school.

The native of Watertown, Minnesota, has participated in a number of community service activities during his college career. Last year, he volunteered for a Courageous Kids event and also took part in a Harper for Kids event which is a youth character development program.

From the 154 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and 103 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) nominees, special voting panels, headlined by former Duke player and seven-time NBA All-Star Grant Hill, and former Tennessee player and WNBA legend Tamika Catchings, will select two 10-member teams. They will be comprised of five student-athletes from the NCAA Division I level and five student-athletes from Divisions II, III and the NAIA.

The final roster of 20 award recipients will be unveiled in February.
