BEREKELY, Calif. - The Santa Clara University men's water polo team split its doubleheader today, defeating Cal Maritime by an 11-3 score before falling to third-ranked California 19-3. The Broncos' season record moves to 10-15.

Junior Logan Gee led the Broncos in their 10th victory with three goals. Sophomore Mark Oda and freshman John Greco added two goals each. Marc Hausle, Mark Perlite, Whit Gilfillan and Austin Brizgys added one tally each.

Sophomore Peter Moore led the Broncos in goal with seven saves.

Gilfillan led Santa Clara with two scores against the Bears, while junior J.P. Doucette added the final goal.

"I'm very happy with the way the team played today," head coach Keith Wilbur said. "We had contributions from everybody against Cal Maritime, and Cal has a shot at winning the national championship, so it was great to play top competition. We're a better team for it."

The Broncos will return to the pool on Saturday, Oct. 26, when they host Pacific at 11:30 a.m. The game will take place at West Valley College in Saratoga.
